Who We Are

Shannon Renn

Shannon was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.  Luckily, her husband is a dog lover too because they entertain and love seven beautiful rescue dogs in their home in Braselton, GA.  While having a career based in insurance, her true compassion is helping homeless, helpless and abused dogs.  After working with various rescue groups, she (with the help of her husband and brother-in-law) founded Great Rescue Dogs to be of assistance to small- to mid-sized rescue groups in Georgia by promoting and helping them network together for the common cause.

Exposure, funding, fostering and transporting are daily events that every group needs help with.  Educating the public and supporting efforts to pass spay/neuter laws is vital to cut down on the overpopulation and needless killing of the pups.  Shannon is working on Great Rescue Dog’s Mobile application to provide a listing of rescue groups, their partners and events to promote a community-wide effort.  While she and her partners love their work, they hope that one day there will be no need and all doggies will have safe, secure and loving homes.

Steve Renn

Steve is the “do everything” backbone of Great Rescue Dogs! If he’s not working that money-paying job, he’s running across town at the beck-and-call of partner groups to transport, deliver supplies, make a veterinarian run and more. At home he is the mechanic of things broken, repairer of things chewed, dog food purchaser, researcher and more. Steve definitely holds it all together. When in need call Steve!

Ryan Renn

Ryan fell in love with his dogs at an early age and decided a long time ago he wanted to center his life “for the dogs." His first dog as a child was Murray.and Murray’s legend lives inside of Ryan until this day. Dedicated to the care of the dogs every single day, you can find Ryan feeding, walking, training, bathing and cleaning. He is the disc flyer, ball tosser, swimming partner, sleeping snuggler and treat giver. Ryan runs the Lure Course equipment at festivals to raise funds for the groups. Ryan also performs as our Mascot for various events, pet stores and restaurants. In addition, you can see Mascot Murray on Facebook for his silly shenanigans.

Services

Finding Forever Homes

Helping rescued dogs find "forever homes" is our passion. We stop at nothing to ensure each dog is taken care of and is able to find a good, caring home first. While we are not a rescue group or shelter per se, we do assist in facilitating the home-finding process.

Networking

Great Rescue Dogs is dedicated to working well with other groups and dog rescue organizations. We use the Internet & Social Media in our attempts to network with various groups. We also help set up events and lure courses for the dogs. This allows other organizations to know that we exist.

Assist Rescue Groups

We help other groups find homes for dogs, we help with setting up events and social activities for people and dogs, we also assist groups online by maintaining an Internet presence. If you have any suggestions, questions or comments, please contact us.

Fundraising

We would not exist without the generous help of people who take the time and consideration to donate, volunteer and get involved. Please contact us for information on donating and getting involved.
